Surround yourself with beauty

December 14, 2017

Funny how throughout the same day, so many hints are thrown at you, but you have to be open to listen to them, to accept those messages so to make changes that your life needs.

Just this morning a new friend and I were working on building tutus for our daughters and talked about life, changes we went through, our own experiences, etc. Through that talk, a topic came through often, that of having your space, organized and beautiful. Sometimes that beauty may be food, a jar, or even a memory from your family. Could also be that set of plates you have been treasuring but suddenly realize, why bother even having it if you are not enjoying it?

Not long after my friend left, I was going through my emails and came across the DailyOM article about a stress-free home. One of the paragraphs hit home big time: "Small things can make a big difference, like simply moving items so that we constantly gaze upon the things we love the most, liberating the treasures we've hidden in our closets, using our best dishes and making small repairs. Organizing and cleaning is a no-cost way to remove chaos from our homes and introduce more calm."

Since we moved to Portugal, my life has been on the go. We moved in, but are still not organized. I have been working, taking care of the younger daughter, helping my father when need be as well as on-call for all that is needed for the family B&B.

The fact of organizing my computer lives lately, made me want to finally tackle our apartment to the fullest. So that is where my energy will be going towards in the next couple of weeks.
