During this month you will most likely be bombarded by breast cancer information. More often though, marketing does NOT show you the true colors of breast cancer. Sometimes I come across an article or a facebook page that outlines just that. What the true colors are.
I came across this one today and right away fell in love with the page, the photos and even more so the cause. Taken directly from this photographer's page:
"Grace is a series of empowering portraits of women who have had mastectomy surgery as a result of breast cancer. The goal of the project is to photograph 800 women (the approximate number of women newly diagnosed in the United States every day). Throughout the process of photographing the work it smaller scale exhibitions are presented throughout the country along with artist talks, slideshow presentations and a book in the works. The project seeks to break down our culture's narrow perception of of beauty and empower women of all shapes, sizes, ages, ethnicity and cultural backgrounds all the while creating breast cancer awareness."
